Haircut

Well, it's been a while since the last posting I guess. There's not too much news from Wichita way. We were in Nebraska for a weekend a couple weeks ago for a family reunion. That was pretty fun, and we got to see a lot of Jennifer's family.

Desmond got a haircut...Before:

And after:

The second being a photograph of Desmond eating a cool summertime treat. He likes popsicles, and prefers to savor them. Unfortunately, it has been very hot here lately, and Desmond's popsicle eating pace results in a sticky mess. We've gotten into the habit of having them on the porch after dinner, and I have to make him take his shirt off so he's easier to hose off. He likes washing up with the garden hose almost as much as eating the popsicle.

We went to the motorcycle races again last weekend. It's fun to watch the races, and fun to watch Desmond get excited about the motorcycles. Most of the races feature youth as the entrants. Pockets of the crowd yell and cheer for their rider, friend or relative, and its fun to see the good battles (usually at the back of the pack) when everybody gets into it. It's especially fun because you know its mostly just kids out there having fun.

Anyway, sorry for the update delay. But tell all your friends...SHOUT it from the rooftops...there's finally a new Prelude to Revolution posting!!

There's something else to shout about in the World o' Grady-Nootz. Check out the August 6 post.

And thanks for commenting, folks.

Desmond definitely looks better with the shorter hair. I think it has something to do with the McDonald hairline...

Although I love those curls, the short cut is sharp! Can't wait to see everyone--I am counting down the days! Love and Miss you guys!

I agree Steve, D looks better without his trademark locks, and he does share my hairline...poor kid.

And Joyce, we too are counting down the days. It sounds like we will have a full house at the cabin, so we may have to rent more than just the one. Should be fun!

That is too funny!! D looks cute, but I can't believe you took all those beautiful curls off. How did you get him to sit still for that? I'm not counting any days ..too busy ...will be lucky to get off....I didn't tell them I have tickets already and don't have it approved as yet! Happy B'day Auntie Dawn on the 20th! Grandma Mary.

What no Mohawk? I thought that was what we talked about. Anyway, with the steamy hot weather, a short "do" was in order. Oh, and garden hose showers are the best.

Well, Grandma Mary, the reason that his hair cut so short is because he wouldn't sit still...I didn't intend to give him a buzz, but I botched the trim partly because he was squirming. And you better tell the barn that you're going to be gone because every one is excited to see you!

Yes, Hoop, I passed on the Mohawk. It was my intention to project my hip, punk rock personality through my son's haircut, but I've only seen redneck children down here with Mohawks. I'd hate to send the wrong message...A redneck Mohawk and garden hose showers could ruin a young boy's reputation for life!

Good point. Besides you and I both sport super short haircuts and were cool, I think. Garden hose showers are still classy though.
