Desmond likes football. I cannot explain this. When games are on television the yells "football" at the screen. When he sees the neighbor kids in their backyard playing he yells and gets excited. He has had no encouragement from me with respect football, or any other mainstream sport. Except, perhaps, when the midget football team practices in the park nearby I used to walk him down there and tell him about what was going on. Now if he sees the kids at practice he insists that we take a walk so that he can check it out. I say that "it has begun" because already I am sitting in front of the television watching football with D because it makes him happy. Soon I'll be in the bleachers, freezing, with a blanket over my lap, ringing a cowbell...I don't like football, but Desmond does.
Today he got to wear his Chiefs sweats to daycare for the first time. The outfit was a gift, and as you can see it makes him very happy. A testament to just how happy is the fact that these pictures were taken in the morning before leaving for daycare; a time when he is not always in the best of moods...

Don't let him play football!!! It ruins lives. Teach him how to hit a golf ball or something. You don't get concussions in golf.
Don't listen to Hoop, he's obviously forgetting about all the kitty he got back in the day being the star quarterback. This allowed him to meet his current lady who will soon be making a ton of money and supporting him so he doesn't have to work anymore.
Yeah, and even though Hoop looses his train of thought mid-sentence once and a while, and sometimes his eyes sorta glaze over, he probably doesn't have any student loans to pay off. And, Steve! I suspect that Hoop's fiancee would object to being called his "current lady," as if there will be a "future lady." She's a good catch, don't screw it up for him...not all of us want to be bitter divorcees.
Sorry that's the way I think I guess. I'm always on the lookout for my next ex wife. It just proves my point though because I didn't play football and look how I turned out. Hoop did and he's in a loving stable relationship. That settles the whole argument right there! Don't be like me!
GOOOOOOOOOO BIIIIIIIIIIG RE-UUUUUUD!
GO! BIG! RED!
Alright,
Grady.
It sounds like your team lost again, Grady. I'm not sure who they played, but I think a couple records were broken...records like more than one game during the season where they allow over forty points, and the team they were playing hadn't won in Lincoln since before Adam, or something. I hear tickets are going cheap now, and that they are finding new and creative ways to screw over the season ticket holders. Soon the longest consecutive sell-out record will fall. I know I'm glad to be have a state's worth of insulation from the fallout from all of this. I don't really care about the Huskers, and I know you don't either, but folks I do care about care about the Huskers...so for their sake I hope things start to look up.
I like football too, Desmond....you look so good in that outfit! G'ma ff's
Well if your going to let him be a football fan you could at least get him a decent jump-suit the "chiefs" come on matt how many overnight ps2 football games did you have to endure not to have respect for your son or at the very least your self!! I'm dissapointed I couldn't teach you anything your the consummate father of unknowing child abuse might as well get him one of those dicounted husker jump suits.
