Loading up in Lincoln

Sorry friends, but Google Video has made it harder to post video in Blogger. I don't know when it changed, but I haven't had time to figure it out. Until then, check out Desmond on the day we loaded up the U-haul truck. The filming of this is early...just after we got the truck, and before the muscle showed up. Thanks to Chuck and Hoop for helping load the big stuff and a lot of the not so big stuff.

The truck in the video is the largest one that U-haul rents. At twenty-six feet, I thought that we would have no problem fitting all of our stuff. In fact, I was thinking that our only problem would be keeping the load from shifting in transit because of the empty space. Well, we packed the thing completely full. At one point I even had to crawl back into the truck and rearrange some of the stuff I had packed when I wasn't being so conservative with space. Anyway, it was full.

Also in the video you will see Desmond walking a bit. He takes a few spills, but he's much better now...just three weeks later.

Chuck and I actually did nothing but watch. Just for everyone's information, despite his shaky walking, Desmond picked up a couch and put in the truck all by himself. Then he yelled at me.

We had the same experience when we moved to Cali with Billy--the truck seemed way big but at the end we barely had enough for all Bill's stuff.
It's good to see Desmond not walking, but charging, headlong, into history.

It is surprising that it was a tight fit, your family has officially entered the Pack Rat Zone.
