The weekend before last, E was baptized. We had a house full of people that were kind enough to make the trip. Thankfully our new house is pretty big, so we had the capacity to host such a crowd. And with Diamond D around, we can be sure that everyone was entertained. He likes his relatives very much, and not just because they come bearing gifts. All of the Nebraska faction were able to come, and there were visitors from Washington and Chicago as well. Grandma from Washington was able to stay for a week...long enough to buy enough gifts for D and E to make up for the time between visits. Auntie J was able to stay a few extra days as well. She was so happy to be out of the urban environment of Chi-town that she even raked the back yard; claiming all along that it was fun...lunatic. Some of the piles that she raked are still waiting to be picked up and D likes to run through them. Sometimes he falls, and he likes it until he gets a "sticky ouchie" in his hand. Thus, its all fun and games until someone get a sticky ouchie in their hand.
The following weekend the new cousin from Nebraska was baptized. We made the trip north to attend, and take advantage of the fine hospitality (and food) that we have come to expect from Grandma and Grandpa there. Oh yeah, Grandpa just got a motorcycle...D got to sit on it and honk the horn. The visit was short, being only for a weekend, but was made even shorter by the fact that we had to leave early in order to be home in time to pick up Kevin from the vet. He was boarded there, and seems to have liked it. I suspect that the animals have ruckus parties well into the early morning hours, because Kevin slept for the better part of the following day before he was back to himself. A friend of mine from work had his dog (also a Boston) boarded there over the same weekend, and his dog, Brody, caught a nasty cold(?). Anyway, I guess Brody can't stop sneezing, but Kevin, being the sturdy hound that he is, is fit as a fiddle.
So, yeah, lots of visiting. Not so strange, I guess, that's what families do, right? Grady, Melissa and Esme are visiting Nebraska soon. Likely we will not be able to join them, which is disappointing. We haven't seen them since Santa Barbara, and have never seen the new one. It's just that there are many things here that demand attention and, also, the misery of traveling with an infant and a two-year-old is utter and complete. Sorry Grady. Sorry Melissa.
And, finally, because so many of you found the picture of me in my riding gear (in a previous post) so ripe for ridicule....another.

So, Auntie J is a "lunatic"?? : ) It WAS a fun activity in the fresh air, plus it was good exercise. I still have blisters on my hands. It was nice to see everyone, but I especially enjoyed the afternoon of sticker exchanging with Desmondo. (Desmondo, his new Spanish name to be used while dining at Mexican Restaurants) Though never formally announced, Emma's will be Esmita. Love you guys!
We were glad you could make it, and if you think yard work is fun you should plan another visit soon because I have scads of it to do. Scads. Plenty of work inside to do as well...I started on the upstairs living room this week. More wallpaper to remove, sweet.

1,798,761,000 SECONDS OLD THIS MONTH I CAN GET SLIGHTLY CONFUSED IF I DON'T READ THINGS WELL. MY APOLOGIES TO AUNTIE J. BA
I've been meaning to post some new photos of the house. I never seem to get it done though...all apologies BA. I guess you'll just have to come see for yourself. The northward migration is not too far off, and you're welcome to stay. D would be glad to share some of his soy milk with you.
And as to whether or not you taught Joyce in the fourth grade...she is still a lunatic, regardless.
Yes, you did teach us in the 4th grade--kinda forgot about that. That's insane to think back to 4th grade. I was such a little brat.
Take care, BA! Heather (Aka Joyce)
Was?
What it!! I am not a brat anymore--I am a caring, loving, generous Auntie!
I meant to say "WATCH" it, not "WHAT"...
; )
So are you ever going to post a video again?? Your viewers have been waiting patiently!! Please, Please post a video! Auntie Joyce
